TIERRA MADRE MONTESSORI

Discover Holistic Learning

Honor.  Inspire.  Transform.

An enriching bilingual program for 3 to 12 year olds

Step into a world where children learn and grow against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring landscapes of Baja California. At Tierra Madre Montessori, we take a unique approach to learning by blending Maria Montessori's timeless methodologies with the natural world and the vibrant culture that surrounds us. This holistic approach fosters an environment where students are inspired to explore and develop their passions, nurturing their individualized journey of self-discovery and growth. With a focus on immersive and child-led learning experiences, our program offers: bilingual instruction, small class sizes, and an evolving and comprehensive nine-year Montessori hybrid curriculum that grows and develops with each child, providing students  with the tools they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Welcome to Tierra Madre Montessori. We look forward to transforming the future together!

“We shall walk together on this path of life, for all things are part of the universe and are connected with each other to form one whole unity.”
Maria Montessori —To Educate the Human Potential
A letter from Our Founder

In homage to Maria Montessori's vision of preparing students for life beyond the classroom, our unique approach to education emphasizes our connection to the Earth and the environment. The Montessori curriculum is meticulously crafted to align with the sensitive periods of each age group. From the Casa children mastering their environment through sensory exploration to the Upper Elementary students delving into cultural and environmental issues facing our planet today, aiming to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of the world around us. The pictureque location in Baja California surrounds us by natural wonders that serve as extensions of the classroom. From turtle releases at our doorstep to encounters with whale sharks and blue whales in La Paz and Magedelina Bay, students have unparalleled opportunities to engage with the environment firsthand. The Montessori curriculum integrates history, geography, botany, zoology, art, and music, drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of our surroundings. At Tierra Madre students will study the past, experience the present, and plan solutions for the future. Maria Montessori  said, "If help and salvation are to come they can only come from the children, for the children are the makers of men."  Truer words were never spoken.

With trust in the future, Mary Dwight
